The first of my New York City travel posts is conveniently of the film location closest to where I’m staying. On the corner of 144th St and Convent Avenue in the Hamilton Heights area is the residence used for the exteriors of the house in The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), directed by Wes Anderson.
With its beautiful red bricks, strange shapes, and prominent spire feature, it is certainly a very special building indeed. You can see why Wes Anderson might want a place like this for his very special fictional family to live.
All photos for these posts will be taken with my iPhone 5, and I apologise for awkward angles as I’m trying not to look like a tourist. Pretty awkward in such a photographable city, but what can you do! The weather is also fairly rainy, so please cross your fingers for some nice blue skies for us.
Hint for tomorrow’s photo: the location of a very spooky favourite film.
