We have come to the end of my On Location posts! I’ve scheduled this post so it should be up whilst I’m up in the air flying over the vastness of North America, or I could be over the sea between here and Australia, who knows. In any case, this blog will more or less return to normal once I get back home!
The final film location I found was pretty awesome as I went with my partner who is a huge fan of Dressed To Kill (1980, dir. Brian de Palma). This location is the exterior of Dr Elliot’s clinic – the good Dr is played by Michael Caine in one of his best roles. Dressed To Kill is described as an ‘erotic thriller’ and is a classic example of director Brian de Palma’s signature style. Would definitely recommend a watch of it, for one of the craziest and most notorious film endings.
Dr Elliot’s office is located at 162 East 70th Street and 3rd Avenue in Manhattan. Like so many other locations, it’s funny because it looks just like any other basement apartment in the area. Plus this was another spot where locals were unaware that the house was featured on film and were asking us why we were taking pictures. They were also pretty surprised that the location was Dressed To Kill, of all films. One local lady said she thought it might have been a location on Friends and had a big laugh about it.
It’s clear that this amazing city has a very rich film history of which I’ve barely scratched the surface. It has been so much fun sourcing these locations and sharing them with you all!

Glad you enjoyed your time in New York!
I had so much fun, can’t wait to go back!
