What I’ve learned so far in my adventures of Harry Potter tourism in the beautiful city of London is that the films took a lot of creative liberties with train stations. Firstly I wasn’t able to get to Platform 9 & 3/4, which is fair enough. Secondly, the location of Platform 9 & 3/4 is between platforms 4 and 5. And thirdly, I discovered that the scene from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) where Harry and Ron fly to Hogwarts in Arthur Weasley’s magical sky blue Ford Anglia was actually shot outside of St Pancras Station, not Kings Cross! I suppose, as briefly mentioned in my previous Harry Potter train station post, the exterior of Kings Cross is just not magical enough to fit the tone of the scene and overall film. The architecture at St Pancras is absolutely gorgeous though, no doubt about that.

Hint for tomorrow’s location: An explosive twist.
wow! Didn’t know that
I think they were really looking for the most magical locations possible!
But St Pancras Station is literally right around the corner of King’s Cross, they could just have parked their car there.
