On Location: Stonehenge

For my birthday on the 18th, I finally had the chance to visit a cultural landmark that I have wanted to see ever since I was a child – Stonehenge, the mysterious neolithic monument located in the Salisbury Plain of south west England. Seemingly a simple arrangement of huge blue stones, the allure of Stonehenge lies in its mysterious origins and in its meaning to those who constructed it. I have always found it fascinating, so visiting Stonehenge on my birthday was the perfect way to celebrate. It goes without saying that the song ‘Stonehenge’ from the iconic rock mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap (1984, dir. Rob Reiner) was running through my head the whole time.

Hint for tomorrow’s location: A riverside door that goes nowhere in real life.
