On Location: Universal Exports

Whilst casually browsing the internet for pictures for one of my other Bond location posts, I found a screencap from The Living Daylights (1987); an exterior shot showcasing a sign for the MI6 cover organisation, Universal Exports. The locale around the sign looked pretty familiar and I realised that there was a Canadian flag in the background, with what looked like the Canadian embassy in Trafalgar Square. After doing some further digging I found out that my suspicions were correct – the location for Universal Exports from The Living Daylights is located at Trafalgar Square, at a building that is now dedicated to Malaysian tourism. Unfortunately I caught my thumb in the best photo where you can see the Canadian embassy flag in the background!

Photo shot on iPhone 6.

Hint for tomorrow’s (final) location: Ending this series of posts with a bang!

  1. Love this series…maybe an idea to start a blogathon based on this with each blogger making pictures of locations where movies were set in their hometown? 🙂
